Abstract:
The cockatiel, also known as weiro bird, or quarrion, is a small parrot that is a member of its own branch of the cockatoo family endemic to Australia. They are prized as household pets and companion parrots throughout the world and are relatively easy to breed. Cockatiels range from $80 to $150 and like most parrotscockatiels are also capable of talking. A cockatiel's vocabulary is generally not as extensive as other parrots, such as African greys and Amazon parrots, but some can be taught to say a few words or phrases. Cockatiels are a great choice for a pet that you can build a great relationship with, they will miss you when you are away, but with a commitment and investment of time spent with your bird, you will have years of fun with these quirky and cute parrots.
